The ESIS inventory of IS projects conducted in the EU Member-States in 1997-1998 has provided a key resource to monitor the Information Society progress in the European Union.
The Commission has decided to launch an update campaign of ESIS projects data, so that this database remain one of the most comprehensive and up-to-date information sources on European Information Society projects.
Accordingly, the updating campaign of ESIS 1 projects has been launched on May 12, 2000. All project coordinators have received an email with an user-id and password allowing the on-line update of projects information. After a checking process, each updated project has been published on the web and accessible via the ESIS Knowledge database search engine.
