ESIS II Events - Estonia

Information Society Technologies 1999, Helsinki

The Estonian Team of ESIS participated in the event "Information Society Technologies 1999" as one of the organisers of Estonian stand.

For that purpose the following materials were prepared and actively distributed from the Estonian stand (Click on the adjacent icon to view the document)

- Leaflet providing some background information on the development of Information Society in Estonia

- Leaflet providing some background information on Estonian Telecommunications Legislation

- Leaflet providing some background information on Telecommunications Research and Development in Estonia

Altogether more than 300 booklets were distributed in Helsinki and around 200 more were distributed to the Estonian Informatics Centre and the Estonian State Chancellery for further dissemination.

Information Day

The Department of State Information Systems of Estonian State Chancellery held an information day for IT specialists from the public sector on 13 December 1999. As members of the Estonian ESIS Team were not able to participate due to being abroad, the strategic partner of Archimedes Foundation for ESIS - the State Chancellery - presented the results of ESIS.

Ms Ülle Laur gave a speech about the training of IT specialists and co-operation with other bodies. Within this context she was able to present the ESIS project and its current and expected results. Leaflets and questionnaires about ESIS and were also distributed.
