ESIS II dissemination in Romania

The ESIS II project presentations in Romania :

1. Kick-off event, June 7, 8

The ESIS II project was launched in the framework of a symposium "The Information Society and the European Integration" organised by the Romanian ESIS team and conducted under the aegis of the Romanian Academy. It was opened by the General Secretary of the Romanian Academy and by Minister Alexandru Herlea, Department for European Integration of the Romanian Government. The symposium was attended by about 120 persons. You may acceed the program here. On June 7, a press conference was held by the Project Manager of ESIS II for Romania, Prof. Dan Dascalu.

2. EU-CEEC Joint High Level Committee Meeting

The third Joint High Level Committee meeting took place in Bucharest on July 8th, with participation from the European Commission, DG XIII and representatives from 11 CEEC countries. The meeting was chaired jointly by Mr. Jörg Wenzel, Special Adviser ISAC of the European Commission and Prof. S. Iliescu, Chairman of the Romanian National Commission for Informatics. The ESIS project was presented during the meeting by Louis Lengrand from the Project Management Support Team and the ESIS II Romanian Project Manager, Dan Dascalu.
