ESIS was present at the IST 2000 Conference in Nice on the PROMISE stand. Other national ESIS Teams were also present at the conference as a part of their national stand.

The IST event is organised each year by the European Commission Information Society Directorate-General, to promote results of its Information Society Technologies (IST) Programme and present main guidelines of the European Union regulatory activities in the ICT (Information & Communication Technologies) field. This year, the IST event is held in close co-operation with the Ministry of Research and the Ministry of Economy, Finances and Industry, in the framework of the French Presidency of the European Union.
With some 3500 participants last year in IST 99 Helsinki, the IST event has become a major European event and a window into tomorrow's Europe.
