Overview 1.1 During this quarter, many meetings, in the framework of a project, have been held with people from both governmental and private sector. Examples include meetings with directors of the private Internet service and E-mail provider, such as the Abissnet Company (Mrs. Brixhida Kokedhima), Adanet Company (Mr. Rezart Andoni), and ICC (Mr. Altin Leksani). 1.2 The Minister of Public Economy and Privatization, Z. Preçi, has held a meeting to discuss the peculiarities of telecommunications services in Albania. The Ministry of Public Economy and Privatization is the highest institution that has legal authority on telecommunications, as well as on electricity. 1.3 ACER also had a meeting with spokeswoman of Prime Minister Mrs. M. Doda to discuss the ESIS project and its priorities 2 Organizations 2.1 Up to now, 16 new organizations have been included in the ESIS II project through the survey conducted by ACER in Albania. These projects are single projects, rather than umbrella projects or sub-project projects. They operate with other organizations that in general provide them with non-ICT Services or funds. 2.2 The new companies involved in the project are: Abissnet company (briko@abissnet.com.al), Adanet Company (rezi@albnet.net), and ICC (info@icc-al.org). They are private companies that got licenses in 1998. The main services provided by them are E-mail and Internet services. Their target groups are both private/non governmental structures and governmental institutions. |
