Update April 2000: Cyprus

No significant changes have been recorded during the period from January 2000 to March 2000 in the local environment.

The private sector, and more specifically, the banking industry still hold the lead in terms of the development and exploitation of IS projects. Nevertheless, there is an increasing number of public projects, especially under the Government’s "Information Systems Strategy" driven primarily by the Department of Information Technology Services.
