Update April 2000: FYR Macedonia

Memo: Members of EU-CEEC Joint High Level Committee (JHLC) from Macedonia are added to the Database. Revised in the Introduction chapter

The Republic of Macedonia is continuing the activities for further economic, democratic and relevant changes in the political system. Within the framework of the integration process, the negotiations on Stabilisation and Association Agreement between Macedonia and the European Union have started in March 2000. In this context, Macedonia are making further efforts to contribute in the regional co-operation for Reconstruction, Development and Security of Southeastern Europe and Eastern Mediterranean.

1. Ministries and Governmental Organisations

The Ministry of Finance (http://www.finance.gov.mk/). Contact: Mr. Oliver Iliev, President of the National Committee 2000.

Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (http://www.mtsp.gov.mk/). Contact: Mr. Bujar Islami, Department of Informatics, and Ministry of Labour and Social Policy

2. Public Companies

Electric Power Company of Macedonia (http://www.esmak.com.mk/). Contacts: Mr. Trajce Cerepnalkovski, Assistant Manager and Mr. Milan Jankulovski, Chief Information Officer.

Macedonian Railways. Contact: Mr. Milan Jankulovski, Chief Information Officer.

3. Private companies, potential infrastructure providers

Makpetrol TEAS (http://www.teas.com.mk/) recently had made some changes in the management. Contact: Mr. Hristo Talaganov, Manager.

Direct Communication (http://www.dc.com.mk/). This new company started operational in March 2000 presenting the potential to be an infrastructure provider. Contact: Mr. Aleksandar Trpevski, General Manager.

4. Internet Providers

There are now two more (total of eight) commercial Internet Providers in Macedonia and this number shall be increased in near future. The new providers are:

Makpetrol TEAS (http://www.teas.com.mk/). Contact: Mr. Hristo Talaganov, Manager, and

Euronet (http://www.euronet.com.mk/). Contact: Mr. Goran Pazrijan, Manager.
