During this quarter there were two
significant factors that contributed to changes and additions to
key contact persons information. These were:
Government being 60%
shareholder in Maltacom p.l.c.,
exercised its right to appoint a new Chairman for the
company. The new Chairman, Mr. Maurice Zarb Adami
has been given a mandate to lead the company into a
liberalized market place for telecommunications.
The Information Society
promotion event organized as part of the ESIS-II project,
brought together for the first time in Malta,
personalities from government and from different cultures
across industry and academia who are in one way or other
interested in or are involved with information society
related initiatives and projects.
Participants included: Government Ministers and high
level Officials, University of Malta, IS Forum members,
IT Nodes Domain Leaders, Euromed Information Society
Action Plan Steering Committee representation, key
persons from private industry, IS related organisations
and other constituted bodies.
