Update July 2000: Palestine Territories

A few changes have taken place in some key organizations. Paltel currently is without a CEO and President, there is a new EUMEDIS Focal Point Coordinator, PITA has changed their President and the World Bank Organization in the Palestinian Territories has a new representative.

Within PITA (Palestinian Information Technology Association), a few changes were made. Vice President Ibrahim Barham replaced President Hamzeh Najjar. Mr Najjar still remains as member of the board. Mr Hassan Kassem and Mr Yahya Salqan no longer are board members; whereas Mr Ahmad Abu-Marzouq has been made a member of the board.

Mr Hussam Najah Husseini of the Government Computer Centre is now EUMEDIS Focal Point Coordinator for the Palestinian Authority. Previously, Mr Ghassan Z. Qadah and Mr Omar Al-Sahili were the EUMEDIS representatives.

The President and CEO of the Palestinian Telecommunications Company (Paltel), Mr Hatem Al-Halawani, has resigned as President. No one has been appointed to replacement him.

Mr Stephen Karam and Mr Robert Mertz are no longer the representatives of the World Bank Organization in the Palestinian Territories. Mr Ma'moun Subeih has taken over their responsibilities.
