These pages provide a general background of the organisational aspects of the Information Society in the different countries of the Mediterranean and Central and Eastern Europe, describing the organisations and persons playing key roles in the Information Society development, at national and regional levels. They give access to :
a database, which is available on the Web in the form of a "Who's Who in the Information Society?", with an associated search tool. The new comprehensive SUMMARY REPORTS, now on-line for each country, resume the key institutional and personnel changes to have taken place over the entire period of the ESIS II Project (1999 - 2000 inclusive), including historical background where appropriate.
