ESIS II Promotional activities Home Page
Update: February 2001

These pages present all major actions and initiatives undertaken in the Mediterranean and CEEC countries to promote the Information Society development.

These activities, conducted by public or private actors, may be launched at transnational, national or regional level. They are either planned, ongoing, or recently completed. Five different types of activities are distinguished: Programmes and calls for projects or proposals (CALL), Communication actions (COMM), Surveys, inventories, studies and observatories (SURV), Publications (PUBL), Experts groups (EXPE). Below, you may access three types of information:

1. Database with IS promotional activities (in English and local language) and its associated search engine
2. Background memos by country giving an overview of recent changes during the period
3. Synthesis memos by geographical area (CEEC and Mediterranean area).

The new comprehensive SUMMARY REPORTS, now on-line for each country, resume the development and implementation of promotional activities over the entire period of the ESIS II Project (1999 - 2000 inclusive), including historical background where appropriate.
