![]() Overview: Bosnia |
General background
As it was pointed out in the regulatory report (reg), Bosnia and Herzegovina is divided into two administrative divisions (or "entities" as they are called): Federacija Bosne i Hercegovine (Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina; commonly recognized abbreviation: FBiH) and Republika Srpska (Republic of Srpska; commonly recognized abbreviation: RS). FBiH is further divided into ten cantons.
Both entities have very high level of autonomy, in fact much higher than is known in other countries (like own army and police forces, border and custom offices, financial agencies, scholar system, telecommunications etc). Both entities have their own governmental structures, including entity's parliament (assembly), government, ministries and president (or presidency).
Many different WWW sites exist in all sectors. Nevertheless, there are still only a small number of official WWW sites. Data presented in the following table is based on the information from a number of WWW sites in the federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Republic of Srpska, for corresponding municipalities, and regions.
