Update: Bosnia

Interest for using the Internet, as well as all of its services and possibilities, is constantly increasing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, compared to the actual possibilities and needs, there is still only a small number of official WWW sites. This is mainly the result of the financial and economic problems.

In the past three months, there have been minor changes in the number of new active WWW sites, in the categories of interest. Actually, the number of Web sites in category "Primary and secondary schools" increase from 1 to 10, and the number of Web sites in category "Museums" increase from 5 to 6.

Data presented in this report is based on information collected from a number of WWW sites, specified in the table below.

Notes:

1. These figures only include the number of schools in Tuzla Canton, Zenica Canton, and in Prijedor.
2. The education system is organised such that faculties organised together exist in universities. There are six Universities in the entire country.
3. Data for Tuzla Canton, Zenica Canton, Bijeljina and Banja Luka.
4. Data for Sarajevo, Tuzla Canton, Zenica Canton, Tesanj, Prijedor, and Banja Luka.
