Despite the growing total number of Web sites in the country, during the last quarter (October – December 1999) there were no major changes of the Web presence in the sectors observed. This is particularly typical for the sectors where Web penetration is low - in the regional and local authorities, clinics and libraries.
As far as the total WWW development in the country is concerned, one should mention the development of the Bulgarian Internet Portals – for instance: www.dir.bg, www.gyuvet.ch, www.triada.bg, www.search.bg, www.hit.bg, www.netinfo.to, etc.
In September, www.dir.bg had more than 180000 visitors. The Bulgarian museum site (www.museum.web.bg) is a Web-based facility, which serves like a gateway for museum’s Web sites and Web pages in Bulgaria.
