There have been a few changes during the past 3 months regarding the numbers and types of web sites in Cyprus. These concern the fields of education and health.
A total of 24 primary and secondary schools now have their own site (as compared to 21 identified during the last quarter and 2 during the first quarter). Of these, 5 (as compared to 3 in the Quarter IV Master Report) belong to public schools and 19 to private.
The number of web sites belonging to high schools (colleges) and universities has also risen since last quarter from 16 to 20. Of these, 3 are public and 17 are private.
As far as Hospital and Clinics are concerned, their number has increased from 8 in March 2000 to 10 at present. The only public hospital which has developed a web site is the Larnaca General Hospital. Nevertheless, there are 7 more sites developed by medical centers and institutes which are either semi-governmental or financially supported by the government : the Dental Implant Doctors in Cyprus ; the Gynecological Ultrasound Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology ; the Karaiskakion Foundation (transplant of bone marrow) ; and the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics ; the KF Neuclear Diagnostics centre ; the Harmony care ; and the Cyprus Fertility Centre. In addition, there are 3 sites developed by town authorities (Limassol Cyprus ; Pafos marathon ; Platres), raising the total number of the relevant sites to 9.
