There are minimal changes compared to July - October 1999. Despite the rapid development in the commercial sector, the public administration institutions lack funding for increasing the number of WWW services (for museums, hospitals, primary and secondary schools). The special case is the large Web service containing information on small local authorities. They rarely have their independent Web sites (that is why the first percentage is so low) but all they are hosted on the site mentioned* (that means WWW pages exist for 100% of them).

(1) The basic information (number of inhabitants, infrastructure, town hall working hours, etc.) about all towns and villages are available on http://mesta.obce.cz. The figure is related only to separated WWW sites offering extra information.
(2) Local "people’s" library is almost in every village, WWW pages can be found mostly for libraries in larger cities. They include also university and faculty libraries and libraries of the Academy of Science (totally 158, all of them with WWW sites)
