(1) The basic
information (number of inhabitants, infrastructure, town hall
working hours, etc.) about all towns and villages are available
on http://mesta.obce.cz. The lower number is related only to
separated WWW sites offering extra information.
(2) Local peoples" library is
almost in every village, WWW pages can be found mostly for
libraries in larger cities. They include also university and
faculty libraries and libraries of the Academy of Science
(totally 158, all of them with WWW sites)
(3) Seznam is the most important (in terms of
market share) Internet search engine and directory in the Czech
Republic, http://www.seznam.cz
(4) http://www.vlada.cz is the official WWW site of the Czech
Government
(5) The basic information (address, services,
working hours, etc.) about all museums and galleries are
available on http://www.cz-museums.cz. The figure is related only to separated
WWW sites offering extra information.
The changes compared to Q3 are mostly related to increasing numbers for museums and hospitals. Despite of the rapid development in the commercial sector, the public administration institutions still lack funding for increasing number of WWW services (for museums, hospitals, primary and secondary schools). The special cases are the large Web services containing information on small local authorities, resp. museums. They rarely have their independent Web sites (see the lower percentage) but all they are hosted on the site mentioned* (that means WWW pages exist for 100% of them).
