Update: Egypt

A total of 265 web sites have been identified so far, as against 170 by March 2000.

Of these, the majority belong to libraries and museums (41%). There has also been a large increase in the number of web sites belonging to regional authorities, which now constitute 39% of the total number.

The number of web sites of high schools and universities has also more than doubled, up to 33 from 14 in the previous quarter, amounting to 12% of the total sites.

All the relevant information was retrieved from the internet, specifically the http://www.Egypt.com.portal, and The Cabinet, Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC)
