Some new and important sites have emerged in the health care:
One of them is the Latvian medical portal: http://www.dr.lv/
This is a resource site for people in the medical profession in Latvia as well as potential patients. The resource site contains listings of some 6000 medical doctors and their specialities, medical associations, Latvian medical services, a searchable database of registered pharmaceuticals and the legislation that deals with the medical profession etc. The site also contains an opportunity for doctors in Latvia to have free email access. Information on pharmacies as well as health insurance will soon be developed.
Another site is the site of the Emergency Centre of Latvia: http://www.emergency.lv/ that also contains information on emergency and rescue procedures and first aid for Latvian language speakers.
