The figures were computed based on the data publicly available from Romanian Education Network (RoEduNet), which connects over 500 networks, with over 114 000 computers and an estimated 120,000 users.
However, a number of the internet servers support multiple web pages which might be dedicated to regional and local authorities, or schools, museums, etc., but which are not "declared" on the main page.
The ESIS II Romania team has initiated a process for a more accurate statistic, by identifying and requesting the help of the system administrators. The process is in development and the above figures must be considered as temporary data giving a very rough characterization of the WWW sites.
