![]() Update: Syria |
During the previous quarter (July-October 1999) there has been web-site development within government organisations in Syria. The Ministry of Agriculture (www.syrianagriculture.org) has a new web-site, bringing the total number of web-sites for ministries to 4 instead of 3. This increases the percentage of web-sites for all Ministries to 18%. Other public sector websites are under construction for the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Higher Education, the National Library, the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (HIAST) and some universities.
A new Higher Institute for Management has just been established in collaboration with the European Union (Presidential Decree Number 4 dated 19 September 1999). There are now 35 High Schools and Universities.
